According to UNHCR, By the end of 2015, Zambia hosted 26, 447 refugees and 2, 411 asylum seekers. Zambia has two refugee settlements, Meheba and Mayukwayukwa. The majority of the refugees come from Angola, DRC, Rwanda and Burundi. In 2015, Zambia received more than 1,700 refugees and asylum seekers from Burundi.

Remittance inflow: USD $ 55 million is estimated in 2016, down from $58 million in 2015. 0, 3 % of GDP in 2015. Remittance outflow: 81 million in 2014, up from $ 77 million in 2013.
